Established in 1972, The Mitolo Group has over 40 years’ experience in growing, harvesting and packing potatoes and onions for Australia’s supermarkets, market wholesalers and numerous export markets.
About the Role
As Experienced Tractor Driver/Harvest Operator you will be responsible for assisting with ground preparation and inter row cultivation of high quality potatoes at Pyap farm. You will be highly motivated, enthusiastic and display a keen interest and willingness to learn large scale vegetable cropping.
You will enjoy a wide variety of tasks including tractor driving, basic mechanical, forklift driving, harvesting and spraying. You will work as part of a small and successful team and possess farm experience in a similar role. You will have the passion and commitment to do a good job and take pride in the quality of your work.
Extensive on-the-job training will be provided to enable you to perform these integral roles.
You will be motivated,and possess the following:
- Experience in operating modern farm machinery including large scale tractors,
- Harvesters and spray equipment, with preference given to those with harvesting and/or spraying experience
- Good communication skills which will enable you to liaise with farm managers and harvest crews
- Strong attention to detail and have passion and pride in the quality of your work
- Basic understanding of large scale cropping
- You will have proven experience in the operation of farm machinery including large scale tractors and harvesters

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)
Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.
RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
