Expressions of interest – Excavator Operator
The Zebra Group is currently seeking expressions of interest for an experienced Excavator Operator with Scrap Metal Recycling and Scrap Metal Shear Experience based in Mackay.
Safety is of the utmost importance at the Zebra Group and the successful applicant must have an extremely high focus on safety and be demonstrating this at all time.
The Role:
- Operation of an Excavator with attachments such as; Scrap Metal Shear, Magnet, and Grab
- Oxy Cutting where required
- Labouring duties where required
- General Yard Duties
Essential Requirements:
- Scrap Metal Recycling Experience
- Excavator Ticket (OH&S and/or RII)
- Extensive experience with an Excavator
- Be able to Pass Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen
- Current Drivers License
Desirable Requirements for all roles:
- Excavator Experience Cutting Scrap Metal
- Coal Board Medical
- BMA Induction
- Standard 11 Induction Training- Surface Induction
- Hay Point Induction
- Forklift Ticket
- Working at Heights Ticket
- EWP Ticket
- Confined Space Ticket

Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.
RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
