This job requires all applicants to have a valid Standard 11 Induction Training mining induction; which will increase your chance of getting through to the next round. The Standard 11 Induction Training Mining Induction is the WHS course you really need to do. MacKeller take pride in their people, their safety culture and maintaining our equipment to a high standard.
MacKeller are seeking a fully qualified ERT / Operator to assist them to deliver production targets at the Carmichael Mine located at the Galilee Basin in regional Queensland.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Ensure effective operation of plant to reduce cycle times and prevent unnecessary maintenance
- Maintain a safe work environment and be committed to adhering and promoting a strong safety culture
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work within teams to develop and implement solutions
- Comply with site Safety & Health Management System policies, procedures and work practices.
- Comply with site Environmental Management Plan and other statutory requirements as required.
- Communicate with operators and other personnel to coordinate operations.
- Ensure Maintenance Servicing of machines is carried out and assist where required.
- Ensure planned tasks are executed within time and cost estimates in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Re-fuelling and general machine inspections.
- Adherence to all Site and Company Policies and Procedures.
Applicants must have:
- Relevant ERT qualification and, current RII operator competencies
- Previous experience in the operation of heavy earth moving equipment and plant for civil projects
- A current Queensland Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)
- A current Standard 11 Induction Training (or willingness to obtain)
- A current Queensland driver licence
- Basic maintenance skills

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)
Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.
RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
