Dump Truck Operators – Prestrip and Coal Mining Job Available!

The client is Australia’s largest coal producer and exporter with several coal mine sites located across the Bowen Basin in Queensland. This particular company currently has several opportunities available, offering immediate starts to skilled and experienced personnel with a high safety performance.
Your new role
2 Different Departments ** Prestrip and Coal available.
Starting immediately on a coal mine site located near Moranbah, this role will see you operating various dump trucks including; Caterpillar Mechanical (CAT 793/797) and Komatsu Electric (830/930).
What you’ll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must have a strong safety focus, be a team player and have previous or current experience operating any of the truck models listed above. As well as holding current RII competencies for the machinery, you also must have a current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 Induction Training; or willing to obtain.

What you’ll get in return
Working a 5/4/4/5 Day and Night rotating Lifestyle Roster, 12.5 hour shifts, your role will be coupled with camp accommodation and meals throughout the duration of the contract.
For all of the hours you work on site, you will be paid superannuation. There is also an opportunity to receive a Temp Worker Recognition Bonus after 6 months of continuous work.

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.
The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.
The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.
The Bowen Basin covers a total area of over 60,000 square kilometres and is located in Central Queensland; running from Collinsville to Theodore. The entire region is home to many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.

Caterpillar Haul truck 793
The 793F has a load cpacityof 226.8 ton (US) and a top speed of 60 kilometres an hour. It's a turbocharged air-to-air aftercooled diesel engine that has enhanced power management capability for maximum hauling performance. The C175-16 is a 16-cylinder, four-stroke design that uses long, effective power strokes for optimum efficiency.
The 793F, is an autonomous-driven truck. Over 100 793F trucks are now operating via Command for hauling, the Cat autonomous truck operations system, which is a part of Cat MineStar™

Komatsu 830E Haul Truck
The Komatsu 830E is an ultra class dump truck used in Australian open pit mining operations an is designed and built in Peoria, Illinois by Komatsu America Corporation (parent company is the Japanese held company Komatsu Ltd.
The Komatsu 830E is a beast, with 231,000 kilogram capacity (255 short tons). Although this is a big truck, the 830E's load capacity is about 66% the capacity of the Liebherr T 282C and Caterpillar 797B.
This is an electric truck and is being featured in many new mining operations as well established mines in WA and QLD.The electric drive system is very different fromt the transmission/differential drive of traditional trucks. The diesel engine is connected to a GE traction alternator with high voltage cables transfering electricity to the two wheel motors at the rear of the truck.

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)
Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.
RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
