I am very fit and planning to do the Dump truck course. The question is would I be regarded as too old to get a start in dump truck driving ? I also have excellent references and a career as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve. Thanks Bob Keith December 13, 2011 Reply Have got My self a job driving a cat733b on freeway site . Malcolm Pene October 30, 2010 Reply This video is amazing! I reckon driving one of these machines would be awesome! As a truck driver I absolutely love what I do and having the chance to drive a dump truck in the mines would be the ultimate for me. The whole lifestyle would be great. Being in the outback, working round the clock, week in, week out. What a dream! I know it would be tough but how do you get the opportunity to break into this kind of work. Can someone let me know? I would do anything to have this chance! Pete - iMINCO October 30, 2010 Hi Malcom The best way is to apply for as many jobs as you can through Seek and CareerOne. Even if the job description states “experience is required” you need to get yourself in front of as many companies as possible. Did you end up getting your resume improved? At this stage before an interview your resume is the ONLY point of contact where you can state your case. It needs to be perfect, relevant and it needs to stand out above the others. I hope this helps Pete Leave a reply Click here to cancel the replyYour email address will not be published.
