Selection criteria and competency requirements include:

• Demonstrated ability to build sound working relationships and ability to work team
• Good communication (verbal and written) with the capacity to develop a sense of team spirit toward achieving Company goals and objectives.
• Physical fitness and dexterity are essential
• Ability to travel; with a preference for working outdoors, plus adaptation to living without the normal comforts of home
• Suitably endorsed drivers license for heavy vehicles (HR truck licence).
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Coal Surface Generic Induction Standard 11 Induction Training
• Coal Board Medical
• Has completed or is in the process of completing ADITC Certificate II. CQE will provide a training plan for non-certified employees
• Heavy Vehicle RII
• Light Vehicle RII

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)

Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.

RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
