Experienced Dragline Operator – Bowen Basin
An experienced dragline operator is required for a position within the Bowen Basin on a 6/6 roster.
The client is Australia’s largest coal producer and exporter with several mine sites located across the Bowen Basin in Queensland. The client currently has a vacancy available for an experienced dragline operator to work on a 6/6 day/night roster, which will be transitioning in to a 7/7 roster.
Your new role
This role will consist of, but not be limited to, operating the dragline and associated equipment, as well as assisting the dozer push and operating graders and excavators when required.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be a suitable applicant for this position you will require:
- Coal Board Medical
- Standard 11 Induction Training
- Drivers License
- Experience on Marion 8050, BE 1370 draglines
- D10, D11 dozer ticket
- Cable Tractor skills
What you’ll get in return
This role offers you a position within the Bowen Basin region operating on a 6/6 day/night roster. You will be paid super for all hours worked on site and all meals and accommodation will be provided to you by the client.

About the Bowen Basin
The Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.
The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.
The Bowen Basin covers an area of over 60,000 square kilometres in Central Queensland running from Collinsville to Theodore and is dotted with many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.
