About the role

It’s an exciting time at South Walker Creek Maintenance Execution team as they are on a continuous improvement journey, and you will be committed to learning and assisting with maintaining industry best practice.
BHP Mitsui Coal (BMC) South Walker Creek Mine Site have vacancies for a qualified Diesel Fitter to join onsite Operations.
This role is on an equal time roster.As a Maintenance Diesel Fitter you will be responsible for ensuring all maintenance is undertaken in a safe manner to optimize the availability and reliability of the Heavy Mobile/Ancillary equipment, Fixed Plant and Draglines through statutory, preventative and breakdown maintenance

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will also be responsible for the following:

  • Undertaking preventative, corrective and break down maintenance of Mobile equipment fixed plant and Draglines
  • Performing diagnostics and fault finding on equipment to reduce down time
  • Servicing of equipment
  • Completing accurate daily trade shift reporting
  • Contributing to team, department and mine site goals to maximize operational performance.

About You

You will be achievement-orientated and motivated by exceeding expectations. Your ability to utilize your relationship and team building skills in order to work collaboratively along with your colleagues across the business will ensure your success.
You will also have proven experience as a Diesel Fitter pro-actively maintaining heavy mobile equipment, fixed plant facilities and Drag-lines.
Along with your Trade Qualification, you have good communication and decision making skills whilst working in a team environment. You are a dynamic and result orientated individual who will have an uncompromising commitment to safety and have a drive for continuous improvement.
