Queensland Bowen Basin Projects

Cockatoo Coal`s Bowen Basin projects extend from Dingo project in the north to the Baralaba South project in the south. The mining activity covers approximately 92 kilometres in an area located approximately 180km west of Gladstone, in central Queensland.

Baralaba Mine/ Baralaba North

Drilling operations in the Bowen Basin have seen a total of 193 holes for 22, 778 metres of depth.

Drilling has now stopped as the company is now satisfied it has uncovered a major resource.� The next phase of open hole drilling and core hole drilling for coal quality testing in the Baralaba North and Lochinvar projects will start later in 2013, with the aim of expanding the JORC Resources (Joint Ore Reserves Committee) and Reserves to the north.

Currently the Company plans to increase coal mining at Baralaba to a total of ~950,000tpa�by the end of 2013.

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.
