Coal Mining Production Operator Bowen Basin – 7/7 Roster

An experienced multi skilled coal mining production operator is required in the Bowen Basin – 7/7 Roster.

The client is Australia’s largest coal producer and exporter with several coal mine sites located across the Bowen Basin in Queensland. This particular company currently has several opportunities available, offering immediate starts to skilled and experienced personnel with a high safety performance.

Your new role

With all transport provided to you, starting immediately on a coal mine site located near Moranbah, this role will see you performing extensive production operations on the following equipment:

What you’ll need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must live within 150km of the Brisbane Airport. You also must have a strong safety focus, be a team player and have previous or current experience operating the equipment listed above. As well as holding current RII competencies, you also must have a current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 Induction Training; or willing to obtain.

What you’ll get in return

Working a 7/7 Day and Night rotating Roster (Wednesday to Tuesday), 12.5 hour shifts, your role will be coupled with transportation, camp accommodation and meals throughout the duration of the contract.

Additionally, for all of the hours you work on site, you will be paid superannuation. There is also an opportunity to receive a Temp Worker Recognition Bonus after 6 months of continuous work.

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)

Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.

RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
