CHPP & Coal Handling Shutdown Coordinator

The Curragh Mine is located near the town of Blackwater and is one of Australia’s largest independent metallurgical coal mining operations boasting four draglines, two Coal Handling and Preparation Plants (CHPP’s), an overland conveyor and producing over 12Mt of coal per annum.

In April 2018, Curragh was purchased by Coronado Coal LLC. Formed in 2011, Coronado is a privately held portfolio company of the Energy and Minerals Group (EMG), a private equity group based in Texas, USA.

About the Role

They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CHPP & Coal Handling Equipment Shutdown Coordinator to partner with the maintenance and operational teams to manage project and shutdown works within the CHPP’s and ensure they are completed in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Mechanical trade and/or post trade qualifications in Maintenance Management or Engineering
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role within a Coal Handling & Preparation Plant (CHPP)/Processing environment
  • Experience in developing equipment maintenance & strategies
  • Strong track record in delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Proven ability for problem solving
  • Experience in managing people, strong communication skills and leadership capability.
