About the Role:
Reporting to the production superintendent, you will operate mobile plant equipment, consisting of CAT 785, 789 and 793 Haul Trucks. As a key member of a high performing team, you will play an integral role in implementing the client’s production requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate mobile plant equipment, consisting of CAT 785, 789 and 793 Haul Trucks
- Work rotating 7/7 roster (including PJ day)
- Pre-start checks
- Maintain equipment
- Operate equipment safely
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Min 12 months mine site operating experience
- Drivers Licence
- Current Standard 11 Induction Training Induction (or willing to obtain)
- Coal Board Medical (or willing to obtain)
- Site SSE/Delegate signed skills list or Unsigned with supporting RII
- Dumps & Tip Heads experience
- Black Coal Competencies for Haul Truck and Water Truck Operation
- A medical including drug and alcohol testing is required as part of the recruitment process.
- Camp and meals provided
- 7/7 Roster (including PJ day), rotating days and nights

Caterpillar Haul truck 785
The Caterpillar 785 Haul Truck, Dump Truck or off-road truck as they are called in the U.S. are still used across the world in open-cut mining operations. This huge truck has proven it’s worth for many years and has often been the entry-level truck for new operators.

Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.
RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
