Spinifex Recruiting are working with a well respected lead recycling facility that prides itself on being the most energy efficient and cleanest producer of recycled lead in Australia. They are currently searching for a Casting/Plant Operator & Forklift Driver on a temporary basis with the view for permanency for suitable and successful applicants.
In this position, you will be working shift work and will need to be available for overtime from time to time. The shift pattern will be 4 days on, 4 days off. 2 days 6am-6pm, 2 nights 6pm – 6am. This is a rotating shift so involves weekend and public holiday work.
Some of your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Forklift Driving
- To operate the casting machinery
- To stack, strap, store and despatch bundle customer orders
- Ensure machinery and equipment is operating correctly
- Sample products in accordance with procedures to ensure product meets customers’ specifications
- Stack, strap, weigh and cool products as per the Safe Work Instruction
- Operate barcoding machine, apply correct stickers and transport final product to correct storage area
- Ensure alloys are despatched in a timely manner
- Keep work area clean and tidy
- Prior to operating any mobile equipment, conduct pre-start checks & record electronically
- Operate all mobile equipment safely
- Ensure all lifting equipment is sound before using

To be successful in this position you need to have a good general knowledge of mechanical aptitude, computer skills, numeracy & literacy. You will need to be reliable, punctual and mature and ensure all tasks and requests are completed accurately and efficiently. You will also need to have good communication skills and be able to work in line with work and safety requirements.
You will be required to hold an WH&S White Card (Mandatory) and for this particular role, it’s desirable to hold a forklift ticket.
