Client is Australia’s largest coal miner and exporter, the world’s largest supplier to the sea borne coking coal market and largest coal producer and supplier of metallurgical coal. The client has several mine sites across the Bowen Basin consisting primarily of open cut mines.

The Successful Candidate:
- Will have at least two years experience operating a drill at an Open Cut Coal Mine
- DK90 Drill Experience (or similar)
- Holds a current QLD Coal Board Medical Is legally allowed to work in Australia
Requirements:
- Blast hole Drilling experience – Site evidence will be required for a successful application
- Current Standard 11 Induction Training (or willing to obtain)
- Current Coal Board Medical (Or willing to Obtain)
- Drivers License
- Previous Blast Hole/Open Cut Drilling – Skills: DK45, OR DK90 Rigs, Pitviper, Sandvik and / or other Blast Hole rigs will be considered
- Please note that this is NOT an entry level role. Only experienced Drillers need apply
Your new role
Starting immediately, this role will see you performing supervisory duties to the drill and blast department, if passed out could also be used to operate Loader, De-waterer, heavy vehicle and loading shots and performing day to day shot firer/blast crew duties or operating the drill rigs.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.
The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.
