Mine Production Operator – Karara

POSITION SUMMARY
Downer Mining provides open cut mining services at Karara mine, including drilling, blasting, loading, haulage and stockpile re handle. The operation is a conventional pit with a 30 Mtpa mining rate. The Karara pit will feed the client-run processing plant, which will produce 8Mtpa of magnetite concentrate. The concentrate will be transported by rail to Geraldton for shipment.
Reporting to the Production Superintendent, as a key member of a high performing team you will play an integral role in implementing the client’s project requirements. You will perform safe and effective production outcomes and continuous improvement principles pertaining to surface excavation, whilst operating mobile plant equipment.
They are currently seeking experienced and motivated All rounder Production Operators at Karara to operate the following equipment:
- Loader CAT 992/WA900
- Grader CAT16M
- Excavator CAT 6060

- 6050 face shovel
- PC 1250, 4000
This is a Fly in Fly out role ex Perth, with a highly appealing 2/1 roster offering a healthy work/life balance and includes excellent on site living facilities.
ABOUT YOU
- Experience in operating the above listed equipment within an open cut mining environment is essential
- High levels of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure
- Effective communication skills
- Safety focus with a high attention to detail to abide by site safety processes

Located 40 minutes from Perth by plane, this project offers a 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth and DIDO from Geraldton. The site has a new camp offering modern unsuited rooms, with the latest modern amenities including sporting & recreational facilities.
