Adani Carmichael Mine – mining activity commences.

Adani Mining has released video of a Liebherr 996 excavator and CAT 796 dump trucks completing their first dig and haulage operations at the new Carmichael coal mine in the Galilee Basin. Queensland.

The mining machines were digging and hauling materials to prepare the way for new roads the site.

The new footage comes after Adani last week marked 12 months since the start of construction on its Galilee Basin coal and rail project.

Recent milestones include completion of work to upgrade the mine site airstrip, with flights between Townsville and the mine site starting in late May and Rockhampton flights last week.

Adani says more than 500 people are already working on the project’s construction sites.

The Liebherr 996 is one of the largest production diggers in the world, weighing over 600 tonnes. The bucket holds 36 cubic metres and carries over 70 tonnes of material in each scoop.
